What are some solutions for repairing unresponsive buttons on a webpage?

My task is to troubleshoot this webpage as the buttons are not functioning correctly. Here’s a snippet of the source code:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
...
</head>
<body>
<div id="container">
  <div id="question0" class="question">
    <p>Press continue to begin</p>
...

The issue appears to be with either the Barcode generation script or the random number generation. Despite reaching out for help on Fiverr, no solution has been found.

Answer №1

It seems like everything is in order, except for one thing - you forgot to close your updatePrice function. Adding a curly brace before the generateRandomDigits will fix the issue.

// Append the barcode with the formattedTotalPrice
JsBarcode("#barcode", formattedTotalPrice, {
  format: "CODE128",
  displayValue: true
});
} // <--- MAKE SURE TO CLOSE THE FUNCTION HERE

function generateRandomDigits(length) {
  return Math.floor(Math.random() * Math.pow(10, length)).toString().padStart(length, '0');
}

Remember to maintain proper code formatting and indentation to easily identify and resolve such problems.

Note: Another issue can be seen in the logs:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read properties of null (reading 'id')

Ensure to use appropriate null-checks or implement optional chaining like button.parentNode.parentNode?.id
