Ways to superimpose images

Everything seems to be functioning correctly in my code, but I would like the output images to overlap slightly. This could possibly be achieved using margins, padding, or some other script. Additionally, is there a way to incorporate z-index so that these images can properly overlap each other?

Answer №1

To achieve overlapping in CSS, the key is to ensure that the top image has a higher z-index value compared to the image below it. Additionally, both elements should have their position property specified.

.container{
  position:relative;
}
.container img{
  width: 100%;
  position:absolute;
}
.container img#pic1{
  z-index: 10;
  top: 50px;
  left: 50px;
  opacity: 0.5;
}
.container img#pic2{
  z-index: 9;
}
<div class="container">
  <img id="pic1" src="example-image1.jpg">
  <img id="pic2" src="example-image2.jpg">
</div>
