Ways to avoid the CSS on the page impacting my widget?

Currently working on a widget using JavaScript and avoiding the use of iframes. Seeking assistance on how to prevent the styles of the page from affecting my widget. Initially attempted building it with shadow DOM, but ran into compatibility issues with Firefox.

Answer №1

To ensure that your CSS does not impact your widget in any way, you must take one of the following steps:

  1. Manually overwrite each style for your widget
  2. Utilize an iframe

If you are within the same domain, using JavaScript for an iframe is acceptable and will not pose any issues.
