view multiple HTML documents simultaneously in a single browser tab

Currently, I am in the process of building a wiki and have included tables in various sections. I want to showcase these tables on the main page as well. Rather than constantly copying and pasting them, I'm looking for a way to have the main page automatically update with any changes made to those tables. Does anyone know if this is possible? The wiki platform supports HTML and CSS.

Answer №1

Embed content using an IFrame.

<iframe id="abc" src="path of another HTML file"/>

Answer №2

Segmenting content elements in a wiki is crucial for efficient display across multiple pages while maintaining a single source. It's important to determine if this feature is available in your specific wiki platform.

An alternative solution could involve using iFrames, but keep in mind that they will load the entire wiki page instead of just displaying the desired table. Additionally, iFrames may introduce compatibility challenges such as printing issues in certain web browsers.

Answer №3

With numerous choices available, managing table data becomes flexible and customizable. One option is to store the information in a dynamic database for regular updates. Alternatively, you could opt for storing it in a flat file or integrating the table pages through include(). Select the method that aligns best with your needs and preferences.

Answer №4

In my opinion, the desired outcome can be achieved by following these steps:

  1. Begin by utilizing a div-element on the main page to create a separate "box" for each table.
  2. Within each box, incorporate a "transclude" to link to the corresponding table page.
  3. Ensure that on the table page, the table is enclosed within onlyinclude tags.

For instance:

<div style="border: 1px solid grey; ">
==Table1==
{{:tablepage1}}</div>
<div style="border: 1px solid grey; ">
==Table2==
{{:tablepage2}}</div>
