My project functions correctly with the provided link. However, in cases where I do not have access to the internet, I download and save the files locally in the same folder as the page. Unfortunately, this approach sometimes causes the files to stop working properly. I have made the following adjustments:

<script src="jquery-3.3.1.min.js"></script>
<script src="popper.min.js"></script>
<script src="bootstrap.min.js"></script>
<link href="font-awesome.min.css" rel="stylesheet">

Edit Structure of my folders:

auctionDetails.php        carousel.html  delete.html           navbar.html         README.md          signupSuccessful.html
auction.php               carousel.php   font-awesome.min.css  newnavbar.php       search.php         style.css
bootstrap-4.1.0-dist.zip  cart.php       footer.html           popper.min.js       signinnavbar.html  test1.html
bootstrap.min.css         cow.jpeg       insertLike.php        productDetails.css  signIn.php         test.php
bootstrap.min.js          database.php   jquery-3.3.1.js       productDetails.php  signUp.php

Edit2
After fixing some missing jQuery issues, the functionality has been restored. However, the problem with font-awesome persists.

View Font-Awesome Output

Answer №1

There is no fonts directory in your folder structure, so it's recommended to download Font Awesome icons from this link

Pro tip: Organize CSS and JS files into separate folders for better scalability as your project grows.

Answer №2

To check if your files are loading, open the console in your browser and navigate to the "Network" tab.

Remember to place styles inside the head section and scripts inside the footer for optimal website performance.
