Typehead.js on Twitter is displaying the full query instead of just the value

The Problem

This is the issue I am facing with my code. My goal is to retrieve only the value, but instead of that, the entire query value is being returned.

var engine;
engine = new Bloodhound({
  local: [{value: 'red'}, {value: 'blue'}, {value: 'green'}, {value: 'yellow'}, {value: 'violet'}, {value: 'brown'}, {value: 'purple'}, {value: 'black'}, {value: 'white'}],
  datumTokenizer: function (d) {
    return Bloodhound.tokenizers.whitespace(d.value);
  },
  queryTokenizer: Bloodhound.tokenizers.whitespace
});

engine.initialize();

Answer №1

What is the rationale behind your use of {value: color} hashes?

let engine;
engine = new Bloodhound({
  local: ['red','blue','green','yellow','violet','brown','purple','black','white'],
  datumTokenizer: Bloodhound.tokenizers.whitespace,
  queryTokenizer: Bloodhound.tokenizers.whitespace
});
