Tips for implementing unique fonts on a website

I've noticed that some websites use unique fonts.

One font in particular caught my eye - it's called MuseoSlab500Regular. How can I incorporate this font into my styles?

Do I need to download the font from a specific source to ensure it displays properly for all users?

I've tried to look at the code of a website that uses the MuseoSlab500Regular font to learn how they load it, but I couldn't find the source:

Thank you

Answer №1

The custom font is loaded using @font-face.

To see the actual CSS file, click on this link:

In the CSS file, you will find the following code snippet:

@font-face {
font-family: 'CustomFontRegular';
src: url('../fonts/custom-font-regular.eot');
src: url('../fonts/custom-font-regular.eot?#iefix') format('embedded-opentype'),
    url('../fonts/custom-font-regular.woff') format('woff'),
    url('../fonts/custom-font-regular.ttf') format('truetype'),
    url('../fonts/custom-font-regular.svg#CustomFontRegular') format('svg');
font-weight: normal;
font-style: normal;
}

A key step in incorporating unique font styles is to upload them onto your server and access them from there. This is necessary as not all users have the same fonts installed on their devices. An effective method to achieve this is by using 'fontface':
