Three images intersecting one another

I am facing an issue with the transparency of one specific image. The images on the left and center look fine, but the one on the right is not hidden behind the center image. I have tried using overflow: hidden and z-index, but haven't had any success. Am I missing something here? Is there a better approach to achieve this effect?

Check out my fiddle:

For z-index to be effective, it is crucial to include the positioning property in your CSS.

To implement this, simply add the following code snippet to your existing styles:

#ekrany .container > div:nth-child(3) img {
    max-width: 100%;
    position: relative;
    z-index: -1;
}
