For those looking to incorporate a searchbar within the bootstrap navigation, simply add a class name to the searchbar (e.g. .searchbar) and include the following javascript and css code:
<script>
$(window).scroll(function() {
var scroll = $(window).scrollTop();
if (scroll >= 500) {
$(".searchbar").addClass("visible");
} else {
$(".searchbar").removeClass("visible");
}
});
</script>
.searchbar {
opacity: 0;
}
.visible {
opacity: 1;
}
This script will initially hide the searchbar, but as users scroll down beyond 500px, it will become visible by adding the .visible class. Conversely, scrolling back up past 500px will remove the .visible class, thus hiding the searchbar once again.
