The mobile menu dropdown link in jQuery is not functioning as expected

I am having an issue with my drop down menu links - they are not clickable. Every time I try to click on them, the menu just closes back to its original position and nothing happens.

If you want to see the issue, you can check out my fiddle here.

EDIT: The menu should close, but instead it should take me to the link I clicked on.

Answer №1

The drop down functionality is behaving as expected based on the current JavaScript code.

To make the drop down toggle only when clicking the "menu" word, modify your code as follows:

$(document).ready(function(){

    $('#nav-mobile ul').hide();
    $('#nav-mobile > a').click(function(e) {
        e.preventDefault();
        $('#nav-mobile ul').slideToggle();
    });
});

If the current behavior meets the requirements, be aware that you are modifying the behavior of anchor tags.

To ensure that clicking on a link redirects you to the desired location, add the following to your code:

$('#nav-mobile ul li a').click(function () {
    window.location = $(this).attr('href');
});
