The Jquery navigation and image display features are experiencing technical difficulties in Internet Explorer

My website is currently in the development stage and functions well on all browsers except for IE10.

Interestingly, both the menu bar and photo gallery, which rely on Jquery, are not functioning properly in IE10.

Below is the code snippet:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.2/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.8.16/jquery-ui.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="jQuery Sliding Flexible Menu v2/deploy/js/jquery.sliding-flexible-menu-v2.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="SpryAssets/SpryEffects.js"></script>

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="jQuery Sliding Flexible Menu v2/deploy/css/sliding-flexible-menu-v2.css">

<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
    //Horizontal
    $("div.menu-horizontal").slidingFlexibleMenuv2({
             buttonSpacing: '1'
    });
    $(".fancybox").fancybox(
                {

                                    transitionIn  : 'elastic',
transitionOut : 'elastic',
easingIn      : 'easeOutBack',
easingOut     : 'easeInBack',
speedIn       : '650',
speedOut      : '650',
changeSpeed   : '650',
                                    padding : '0px',
    });
});
function MM_effectAppearFade(targetElement, duration, from, to, toggle)
{ Spry.Effect.DoFade(targetElement, {duration: duration, from: from, to: to, toggle: toggle});
}
</script>

<script type="text/javascript" src="fancyapps-fancyBox-2bb0da9/source/jquery.fancybox.pack.js"></script>
<link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="fancyapps-fancyBox-2bb0da9/source/jquery.fancybox.css">

Can anyone provide insight into why this issue specifically occurs in IE?

Thank you!

Answer №1

There are a couple of solutions available to tackle this issue:

  1. Simply use the fancybox css/images as provided in the fancybox download, and place the fancybox folder in your application's root directory.
    1. If needed, you can also tweak the jquery.fancybox-1.3.x.css file for specific modifications: 1. Locate the /* IE */ comment 2. Adjust the src attribute for DXImageTransform.Microsoft.AlphaImageLoader filter for all classes

It is important to note that sticking with approach 1 may be a more viable option in the long run, especially since future upgrades could become complicated if changes are made directly to the fancybox css file.
