The button should only be visible on an iPhone device

Currently, I am utilizing the Twitter Bootstrap layout and facing an issue. When I reduce the browser window size, a menu should appear only for iPhone layout when clicking a button. However, the button is showing up for desktop as well. How can this be fixed?

                <span class="icon-bar"></span>
                </a>

Answer №1

If you specifically want an element to be visible only on phones, the .visible-phone class can be used. For more information, refer to the "Responsive Utility Class" section in the following link:

Answer №2

If you wanted to target specific screen sizes using a media query, such as excluding desktops but including mobile browsers similar to the iPhone, you could do so by specifying the dimensions of an iPhone's screen. In portrait mode, an iPhone has screen dimensions of 320px x 480px, and in landscape mode, it is 480x320 (refer to this link). A sample code snippet for this scenario would look like:

@media only screen and (max-width: 480px) {
    selector { color: red }
}

For more detailed information on media queries, check out the article provided by the Mozilla Developer Network here.
