Stylish News Carousel using CSS and HTML

I've been working on creating a news slider for my website, but I'm encountering an issue. Despite completing the HTML and CSS, I'm struggling to make the 'showcase' rotate using JQuery. I've tried various guides and instructions without success. Can anyone provide guidance or assistance in achieving this?

Here's a snapshot of my progress so far: https://i.stack.imgur.com/Lzakd.png

As someone new to JQuery, any help or useful resources would be greatly appreciated. I've dedicated significant time to this project over the past week.

Thank you :)

After downloading, simply include the following javascript code:

$(document).ready(function() {
  $('.topNewsBlock').cycle();
});
