Stylish News Carousel using CSS and HTML

I've been working on creating a news slider for my website, but I'm encountering an issue. Despite completing the HTML and CSS, I'm struggling to make the 'showcase' rotate using JQuery. I've tried various guides and instructions without success. Can anyone provide guidance or assistance in achieving this?

To integrate the jquery cycle plugin into your project, download it from this link: http://jquery.malsup.com/cycle/

After downloading, simply include the following javascript code:

$(document).ready(function() {
  $('.topNewsBlock').cycle();
});
