Step-by-step guide on preventing an item from collapsing in a Bootstrap navbar

Is there a way to exclude a specific item from the navbar collapse box when the screen size becomes small?

Here is the current HTML code:

    <div class="container">
  <nav class="navbar navbar-default">
    <div class="container-fluid">
      <div class="navbar-header">
        <button type="button" class="navbar-toggle" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#navBar">
          <span class="icon-bar"></span>
          <span class="icon-bar"></span>
          <span class="icon-bar"></span>
        </button>
        <a class="navbar-brand" href="."><img class="ico_img" src="assets/ico_img.png" /></a>
      </div>
      <div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="navBar">
        <ul class="nav navbar-nav">
          <li class="active"><a>Home</a></li>
          <li><a href="page1.php">Page 1</a></li>
          <li><a href="page2.php">Page 2</a></li>
          <li><a href="page3.php">Page 3</a></li>
        </ul>
        <ul class="nav navbar-nav navbar-right hidden-xs">
          <li><a class="welcome"></a></li>
        </ul>
      </div>
    </div>
  </nav>
</div>

I would like to find a cleaner solution than adding the 'hidden-xs' class attribute to hide the welcome message when the collapsible menu appears. Are there any other alternatives?

Answer №1

To achieve this, utilize a combination of .visible-*-*. Additionally, consider using .hidden-xs for a neater solution.
