span tag used within a Twitter Bootstrap 2 modal

Using span structure in modal view is causing overflow issues when using .row, .row-fluid, or spans within the modal.

<div id="login_register_modal" class="modal hide fade" tabindex="-1" role="dialog" aria-labelledby="myModalLabel" aria-hidden="true">
    <!-- Header -->
    <div class="modal-header"> </div>

    <!-- body -->
    <div style="color:black;" class="modal-body">

    <!-- Trying to use 2 span6 elements in a row div inside modal but experiencing overflow issues-->

      <div class="row">

        <div class="span-6"> left content</div>
        <div class="span-6"> right content</div>

      </div>
    </div>

    <!--footer -->
    <div class="modal-footer">
        <button class="btn" data-dismiss="modal" aria-hidden="true">Close</button>
        <button class="btn btn-primary">Save changes</button>
    </div>
</div>

If this layout is not possible in Bootstrap, how can I divide the modal into two equal parts?

Answer №1

Is there a way to split a modal into two equal parts?

I attempted to divide the modal into 2 sections and hide one using jQuery. The TB modal is just a simple piece of html that can be customized in any way.

However, when I try to use .row, .row-fluid, or spans within the modal, it causes overflow issues.

If you are using fixed width or height, make sure your content (html code) is placed inside the div with .row or .row-fluid to prevent it from taking up additional space.

If you have defined .row in TB and are using spanx within the div, it may be causing alignment issues. You can manually remove the left and right properties by creating a custom stylesheet.
