Should we trust the reliability of bootstrap 4 despite it being in the alpha stage of development?

Currently, my website is built with bootstrap 3. I am planning to give it a fresh look by using bootstrap 4 for the upcoming revamp. But given that bootstrap 4 is still in alpha release, should I be concerned about potential issues?

If so, what specific problems could arise from using bootstrap 4 instead of bootstrap 3?

Answer №1

Typically, if a library is not in a stable version, it indicates that the code you are using may undergo changes or certain features may be altered, making it risky for production environments as these modifications can potentially disrupt your code.

Answer №2

General guideline:

If a software is not in its stable, final, or release version, there is a high likelihood of it containing numerous bugs.

Alpha versions pose an even greater risk as they are subject to behavior and functionality changes without undergoing thorough testing.

Therefore, using such software in a stable production environment is not recommended.
