Scrollbar customization in a div container

I find myself in a dilemma. I need to create a div content with a scrollbar that looks similar to the design shown in an image. After researching, I only came across one solution that seems suitable: jQuery custom content scroller. However, it appears to be quite complicated and not very user-friendly. I am wondering if there are any other methods available to achieve the same result. Thank you in advance, and please forgive my imperfect English.

Answer №1

Personally, I believe that Jscrollpane is top-notch.

Take a look at this demonstration to see how nested scrollbars work seamlessly.

I have used it in the past and while there might be a slight learning curve, the benefits of using jscrollpane are definitely worth it.

REVISION

After reviewing the scrollbar demo you shared, I can say that I have utilized it before. While it functions well, my preference still lies with jscrollpane as I have not encountered any limitations using it. As for your inquiry about having a custom scrollbar like the one in your image, there isn't a simple solution. You would need to implement either of these two plugins (or others). The challenging part lies in styling the scrollbar with CSS, but the initialization process is fairly straightforward.
