Reposition the button alongside the textarea

Seems like this is a common inquiry. I am still learning the ropes when it comes to CSS and JavaScript. I have a textarea with a button beneath it, and I would like the button to stay aligned with the textarea as I resize it! Any suggestions on how I could achieve this?

Answer №1

To position the button at the corner of the textarea and maintain its relative location while expanding or contracting, follow these steps:

Start with the following HTML code:

<form>
    <textarea></textarea>
    <p>
        <input type="reset"/>
        <input type="submit" value="Submit"/>
    </p>
</form>

Next, add the CSS properties:

form {
   position: relative;
   display: inline-block;
}

form textarea {
    min-width: 140px;
}

form p {
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    display: block;
    text-align: right;
}

Lastly, check out the JsFiddle link.

Have a great day!
