Remove the "Show Quoted Text" feature from your Gmail experience

How can I code HTML emails to avoid displaying "show quoted text" and preventing text from turning purple? The system I am developing sends a notification to users when they receive a reply, but after two or more replies from the same person, everything except the date and photo in the email is turning into "show quoted text," including the call-to-action button. This issue has been addressed before, but I am having trouble finding the solution.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Answer №1

In my experience, the crucial factor for organizing emails in Gmail is the subject line. Emails with identical subjects from the same sender are grouped together into a single conversation thread, where Gmail will display "show quoted text". I have found that making minor adjustments to the subject line prompts Gmail to treat it as a new conversation and hide the previous message content. To avoid this, consider adding timestamps, dates, or sequence numbers to differentiate your email threads.

Answer №2

To prevent gmail from hiding duplicate content, consider modifying the email body by incorporating a snippet of the original reply.
