I've noticed that both of these pages contain the same code, but strangely the javascript countdown clock is not loading on the index.html page. Any ideas on what could be causing this issue?
I've noticed that both of these pages contain the same code, but strangely the javascript countdown clock is not loading on the index.html page. Any ideas on what could be causing this issue?
The first issue is that the HTML contains duplicate html and head tags.
Additionally, the code fails because there are no line breaks in the document, causing comments to obscure the rest of the code.
<script type="text/javascript">
var clock;
$(document).ready(function() {
// Get the current date
var currentDate = new Date(); ...
^^ Hides the remainder of the JavaScript code
Any attempt to "compress" the file by removing line breaks was not a good decision."
After analyzing both URLs, the issue seems to be the commented lines within the script.
The script within the div(class="mainBody") is causing the problem, as it differs between the two pages.
has the following HTML content:
contains the following HTML:
Comparing both JavaScripts, the first one has 22 lines while the second one is just 1 line (due to comments causing an issue).
To resolve your problem, consider using the script from the first page in the second page or removing the comments from the second page's script.
Thank you.
