Place the image over another section, shifting the content aside

Current: http://jsfiddle.net/nmd1abot/

Desired: https://i.sstatic.net/RP5z7.jpg

Basic structure

Section
    Header
    Body
    Graphic
Section
    Header
    Body

I'm looking for a way to make the graphic overlap into the grey section while providing more space for the header of the second section.

Is there a solution that doesn't involve manually adjusting the padding of the second section?

This design is likely to be used on multiple pages, but the size of the image may vary.

To achieve the desired effect, simply include the following CSS properties:

margin-top: -30px;
padding-top: 30px;

within the styling of your .element

By utilizing a negative margin-top, you can move the .element upwards along with its inner content.
To counteract this upward movement, apply top-padding of the same amount to bring the content back down.
