Place a JavaScript code block within a designated div container

I'm currently working on revamping the appearance of the header area for this website. My goal is to replace the background image with a rectangular JavaScript ad positioned to the right of the logo. However, I've encountered difficulty due to the complex series of div blocks within the header. Any content I try to place next to the logo often ends up underneath it rather than alongside it, regardless of its size. It's puzzling because there appears to be ample space to the right of the logo. I'm unsure of what the issue could be.

Answer №1

Don't worry, the issue here is quite common; the logo element with the ID of #rt-logo is a block element, which means it doesn't naturally allow inline elements to sit beside it. One solution is to use absolute positioning on your ad box - since the parent div with the class of .rt-omega is relatively positioned, this should be an easy fix. Another option is to add either float: left; or display: inline-block; to #rt-logo to achieve the desired layout.

However, this is a fundamental issue and it might be beneficial to brush up on your CSS skills. Consider checking out a css tutorial or two if you plan on spending time building websites - it will be worth the effort in the long run.
