Picture fails to load on iPad/iPod devices

My website is working perfectly, but I have encountered an issue when trying to view it on devices like iPod/iPad. The image of the elephants either doesn't show up at all or appears for a split second before disappearing. I've read other threads about similar issues, and most suggest that the problem might be related to the image size. However, this particular image is only 321kb and 1.1MB for retina screens.

If anyone has a solution for this problem, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you :)

Answer №1

If you're facing the issue of an image being too large, consider using background-image as a more semantically correct and recommended solution. Web design nowadays often involves trying various tricks and hacks to ensure compatibility across different browsers. Don't forget to test thoroughly.

On another note, make sure scrolling works properly on your page (especially in Chromium 31). When coding in PHP, opt for PHP comments over HTML comments to avoid unnecessary bloating of your page and safeguarding your code from potential security risks:

<?php /* echo; */ ?>

instead of

<!-- ?php echo; ?> -->

Consider including the following code snippet in your website's <head></head> area
