Is there a way to display the next/previous buttons separately from the scroller in my jQuery thumbnail scroller implementation?

Is there a method to display the next and previous buttons outside of the scroller frame when using jQuery thumbnail scroller by manos.malihu.gr? I have attempted to modify the button class in CSS to make them more prominent or visible, but unfortunately haven't had any luck. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Answer №1

If you want to customize the buttons on the scroller, simply hide the default ones and create your own version.

Inside the file jquery.thumbnailScroller.js, locate these specific lines of code:

var $customNextButton=$this.children(".jTscrollerNextButton");
var $customPrevButton=$this.children(".jTscrollerPrevButton");

You may not be familiar with the functionality of the scroller, but feel free to modify these lines to fit your desired button design.

Answer №2

This solution worked perfectly with the flex slider implementation. Hopefully, it proves beneficial for your project.

.flex-direction-nav .flex-next { right: 0 !important; margin-right: -30px;
   opacity: 1 !important; }

.flex-direction-nav .flex-prev { left: 0 !important; opacity: 1 !important;
   margin-left: -30px; }

.flexslider { width: 90%; margin: 0 auto; }
