Is the mobile site displaying CSS pixels in the physical pixel resolution?

I am struggling to grasp the problem and finding it challenging to explain it clearly, so I have attached a picture depicting the issue.

https://i.stack.imgur.com/E9Gzj.png

My current approach involves using ratios of 100% and 100vw for element widths. Despite everything appearing to render correctly in terms of scale, when inspecting the element, it shows the correct width. However, it appears to be rendering at the actual physical pixel size of the device. I may be mistaken about this observation as I am uncertain. This is an issue I have not encountered before.

It is my goal to have the body of the page occupy the full viewport width on mobile devices. Any assistance provided will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Answer №1

The problem stems from the following:

<footer>
  <nav class="row">...</nav> <!-- The width here is set to 1100px -->
</footer>

Simply remove the fixed width on the nav.row element and it should resolve the issue.

Answer №2

Apologies for the inconvenience caused, it turned out to be a sneaky element that was stretching too wide, yet hidden due to overflow. This serves as a reminder of the consequences of having an excessively lengthy stylesheet.

Grateful for the assistance provided.
