Is Span responsible for creating a new line in this particular sentence?

I am struggling with aligning the following line of text that includes percentages like 100% and 99.8%.

Is there a way to display all these elements in one line, side by side?

<span style="font-size:12px;font-weight:bold;padding-left:800px;">99%>=<span style="color:#69BB1D;">GREEN</span><=100%, <span style="padding-left: 950px;">41%><span style="color:#FFD700;">YELLOW</span><99.8%,</span> <span style="color:#EE543D;padding-left:1100px;">RED</span><99.6%</span><br />

Answer №1

It appears that the issue lies within the "padding-left" property in each span element, causing them to wrap to the next line due to screen size limitations.

By either removing the padding entirely or reducing its value, the spans should display side by side on a single line.

Check out this example here: https://jsfiddle.net/zjbot272/

<span style="font-size:12px;font-weight:bold;">99%>=
<span style="color:#69BB1D;">GREEN</span><=100%,
<span style="">41%>
<span style="color:#FFD700;">YELLOW</span><99.8%,</span>
<span style="color:#EE543D;">RED</span><99.6%</span>

Answer №2

Consider including the CSS property white-space: nowrap;. Your current approach seems quite unconventional.

<div style="font-size: 16px; font-weight: normal; padding-left: 600px; white-space: nowrap;">85%&gt;=<span style="color:#4286f4;">BLUE</span>&lt;=100%, <span style="padding-left: 700px;">53%&gt;<span style="color:#7b42f4;">PURPLE</span>&lt;99.4%,</span> <span style="color:#f44242;padding-left:800px;">RED</span>&lt;98.2%</span>
