Is it possible to style an element that has extended beyond its parent container using CSS?

Is it possible to select items that have a float:right property and appear on the next line due to reasons like excessive content on the left or a window size too small? This is necessary because the parent item has a background image that looks good, but when the floated item falls out of place, it becomes invisible as both the color and background-color are the same.

Could this be achieved?

Answer №1

My solution involves utilizing JavaScript to determine the relative position of the floated div. By checking the y coordinate and seeing if it is greater than 0, we can deduce that it has likely fallen. You can then add a CSS class or apply any other desired behavior accordingly.
