Incorporate a CSS-styled Hyperlink Button into a Jquery Loopedslider

After spending the last 2 hours trying to figure out what seems to be a simple solution, I am determined to add a hyperlink button to each image/div in the jquery Loopedslider using CSS.

Although I have used loopedslider multiple times before, I have never encountered the need to add hyperlink buttons. A good example to follow is the Amazon webstore homepage: where the button is located in the lower left corner of each image.

Is it possible to achieve this with Loopedslider? Does that even make sense? Any assistance on this matter would be highly appreciated! Thank you! :-)

Answer №1

Here is an example:

.yourDiv:after{
    position: absolute;
    bottom: 5px;
    right: 5px;
    z-index: 10;
    display: block;
    padding: 5px;
    content: "tap here!";
    background-color: blue;
    color: #fff;
    font-family: "comic sans", arial, sans-serif;
    font-size: 12px;
}

Remember to target the specific divs in the slider using something like .slider div{}

Then, you can add click functions in JavaScript.

UPDATE: It seems that jQuery doesn't support adding functionality to :after elements. I recommend adding the buttons using jQuery instead of CSS.

This code snippet should help:

$("#loopedSlider .slider div").each(function(){
    // Make sure to define the class (.myBtnStyling) in your CSS...
    var btn = $("<div>")
        .addClass("myBtnStyling")
        .text("Tap here!");

    btn.click(function(){
        // Add click functionality here...
        alert("yay");
    });

    $(this).append(btn);
});
