In Internet Explorer 7, there appears to be a white box that covers up the content on our website beyond a

I'm feeling stuck and frustrated trying to solve this issue. I have a Mac and no access to an IE7 machine, so I've been using browserlab (which is slow) to make any changes and see if they help. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to fix the white box covering the bottom half of the page.

This website project is challenging for me, and although it's not perfect, it looks fine on other browsers!

If anyone could kindly take a look at it and provide some hints or tips, I would be extremely grateful.

Thank you.

Answer №1

The issue seems to stem from the height: 300px rule applied to #header.

By removing that rule, the problem in IE7 is resolved, with no impact on IE8 or Firefox.

See Live Demo (includes the fix for IE7)

As for the specific reason why this solution works, I didn't investigate further unless requested to do so.

To quickly confirm the result and hopefully accept my answer sooner, feel free to use this site to test it in IE7:

It's a quick tool for testing.

Answer №2

Why do we have all these random </div> tags cluttering the bottom of the page? It seems like Internet Explorer is throwing a fit because the HTML isn't up to par.

Answer №3

Give this a try - , it might just solve the issue.
