Identifying the specific area between two points on a chart by marking or highlighting

Recently, I had the opportunity to experiment with ANTS Performance Profiler for a few days and came across one of its standout features - the Interactive timeline. This feature allows users to select and highlight data between two points by simply moving and dragging the mouse, creating a customizable time range display.

This got me thinking, is there something similar available using jquery/graphs/Html5?

I did some research and found that the simile-widgets timeline seems to be the closest match to what I was looking for, although not quite hitting the mark.

Are there any other ways or tools out there to effectively implement this interactive timeline feature?

Highcharts and Highstock offer a convenient zooming and marking feature. Check out this demo or this one for a demonstration. Utilizing their API allows you to pinpoint specific data points, catering to your unique requirements.
