html - Removing excess space following the footer

Having trouble getting rid of the excess white space below my footer on this website:

I attempted to search for a solution online and even added padding:0; to the footer's CSS, but unfortunately it didn't solve the issue.

Appreciate any assistance in advance. Thank you!

Answer №1

Check out the style for your footer

footer {

background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #1E1E1E;
color: #FFFFFF;
font-family: 'sansationregular';
height: 36px; // ?  36 height
line-height: 40px; // Issue with line height set to 40
margin-top: 45px;
width: 100%;

}

Change line-height to 36px and keep it simple...

Answer №2

In the file combine.css, on line 246, you've set a height of 36 pixels to the element with the ID "footer". That's where the issue lies.

Answer №3

To locate the styling for the footer, open combine.css and search for the footer class

footer{
background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #1E1E1E;
color: #FFFFFF;
font-family: 'sansationregular';
height: 36px; /*if you want to keep line-height, comment out this line*/
line-height: 40px;
margin-top: 45px;
width: 100%;
}
