How seamless is the integration of React with existing HTML and CSS files?

I'm collaborating with a team of developers on a website project, and I'm curious to know if React can be added after hiring someone to develop the html and css templates. Would it be possible for one person to create the design elements while another integrates React into the site?

Can React be seamlessly integrated in this scenario, or is it necessary to use React right from the beginning? As a python programmer, I don't have much experience with React so I'm unsure how it would work haha

Answer №1

One of the key benefits of React is its ability to dynamically generate HTML using JavaScript code. If the HTML is already static and finalized, the utility of using React may be questionable.

Even though I am only a sophomore in college, my advice would be to embrace React right from the start.

Answer №2

Integrating React with existing HTML/CSS files is technically possible, much like manually editing the files in the public folder of a React project. However, without a compelling reason to do so, it may be more practical and sustainable to consolidate your HTML into a React project. If there are no significant benefits to utilizing React (such as having experienced React developers or requiring specific libraries/functionality), developing a website with plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript could be just as effective.
