How far apart are two surfaces when they are rotated along the Y-axis

Access Code: Click here to access the code

I am trying to make sure that the red surface lies completely flat on top of the gray surface. However, there seems to be a gap (marked ??) between the two surfaces when I rotate 'modifier1'. How can I eliminate this gap?

JavaScript Code:

When Famous is loaded, the following script runs to create an interactive design involving two surfaces placed on top of each other and transformed dynamically.

Answer №1

Not familiar with this specific library, but it seems like the issue has been resolved correctly. Check out the corrected code here. However, the explanation provided might be insufficient:

var graphNode = mainContext.add(modifier1);
graphNode.add(surface1);
1graphNode.add(modifier2).add(surface2);

The problem occurs when stacking one modifier on top of another, causing their origins to stack as well. While modifier1 is positioned at 0.5, 0.5 from the main context, modifier2 uses the same origin relative to modifier1, which results in additional distance.

To fix this, you can either set the origin of modifier2 to 0,0, or add it directly to mainContext.
