How can I prevent Outlook from making changes to my HTML emails?

After successfully creating an HTML email signature that looks great on almost all devices and email clients, I encountered a frustrating issue with Outlook (desktop application). It seems to automatically edit my message before sending by adding its own styles, rules, and paragraph tags, ultimately ruining the design I worked so hard on.

Although switching to Thunderbird would resolve this problem, my workplace exclusively uses Microsoft Products, making it difficult to suggest any other email client to my colleagues who are already accustomed to Outlook. This has left me wondering:

Is there a way to prevent Outlook from interfering with my emails, especially in terms of inserting unwanted styles, rules, and paragraphs? Ideally, I would like to send a clean, unedited version without requiring users to take any additional steps.

Answer №1

Creating HTML emails can be frustrating because each browser behaves differently, which means you have to simplify your design as much as possible to ensure compatibility across multiple clients. For more information on how different browsers interpret CSS in emails, visit .
