hide the side menu automatically - wordpress

is the official website created using a WordPress platform.

Upon visiting the site, you will immediately notice a prominent "showcase" banner positioned right below the navigation bar.

On the right side, there are additional posts that users can choose to view or hide according to their preference.

By default, these posts are set to be visible. However, I am interested in making them hidden by default with the option to display them when desired.

If anyone has insights on how I could achieve this customization, please share your expertise!

Answer №1

If you navigate to the file

/wp-content/themes/discussionwp/assets/js/modules.min.js
, locate the instance of mkd.windowWidth<769?. The number 769 (or rather 768) indicates the maximum window width at which the "showcase" will auto hide by default. You have the freedom to adjust this number to a larger value (one that exceeds the typical browser window width, e.g., 9999?) without altering any other section of this encrypted JavaScript script.

After making this change, there will be an animated process for hiding when you access the website. If you wish to eliminate this animation, you can insert a property style="left: 100%;" within

<div class="mkd-post-block-part mkd-pb-four-non-featured">
on Line 813 (from what I can tell) of the index file.
