Having trouble with the "Corrupted @import" error during grunt build?

As I embark on my journey to create my very first Angular application, I have encountered a roadblock. Using Yeoman and angular-generator, everything seemed to be running smoothly with "grunt serve." However, when I attempted to execute "grunt build," the process came to an abrupt halt with the following error message:

Running "cssmin:generated" (cssmin) task
Warning: Broken @import declaration of "" Use --force to continue.

Aborted due to warnings.

The cause of this error eludes me despite my thorough search for a solution. Here are the CSS links that might shed some light on the issue:

 <!-- build:css(.) styles/vendor.css -->
    <!-- bower:css -->
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="bower_components/bootstrap/dist/css/bootstrap.css" />
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="bower_components/animate.css/animate.css" />
    <!-- endbower -->
    <!-- endbuild -->
    <!-- build:css(.tmp) styles/main.css -->
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="styles/main.css">
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/font-awesome/4.4.0/css/font-awesome.min.css">
    <link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Bungee|Carrois+Gothic+SC|Oswald" rel="stylesheet">
    <base href="/">
    <!-- endbuild -->

Answer №1

After some troubleshooting, I was able to identify the issue which required me to rearrange the position of the link tags. It now looks like this -

<!-- build:css(.) styles/vendor.css -->
    <!-- bower:css -->
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="bower_components/bootstrap/dist/css/bootstrap.css" />
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="bower_components/animate.css/animate.css" />
    <!-- endbower -->
    <!-- endbuild -->
    <!-- build:css(.tmp) styles/main.css -->
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="styles/main.css">
    <!-- endbuild -->
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/font-awesome/4.4.0/css/font-awesome.min.css">
    <link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Bungee|Carrois+Gothic+SC|Oswald" rel="stylesheet">
    <base href="/">

Now when I run grunt build, everything works smoothly. All that was needed was to place the main.css file between

<!-- build:css(.tmp) styles/main.css -->
and <!-- endbuild -->
