Guide on including the sequential images within the previous and next button of a carousel

Currently working on my portfolio website, I have managed to code a carousel for displaying my images. The only challenge I am facing now is how to make the 'Next' and 'Prev' buttons show the next and previous images respectively. Does anyone know what JavaScript code I should insert into my existing code to achieve this functionality? Here is an image to help illustrate my question

Answer №1

To locate the functions responsible for the regular carousel's next and previous buttons, simply add an onclick attribute to your next and previous images in the HTML and call them accordingly.

<img onclick="prevImage()" src="image1">
<!-- Main carousel image -->
<img onclick="nextImage()" src="image3">

You can then switch the sources of the images with ease. Another approach is to set up an array of images with classes for previous, current, and next. Use CSS to style them and update the classes onClick.

Providing more specifics could lead to a more tailored solution.
