Ensuring the Alignment of Element Borders in HTML CSS

Among my collection of buttons, each displayed in line with <h3> tags, I notice that despite all the <h3> tags being the same length, the edges of the buttons are not perfectly aligned.

I am aiming to achieve a clean and seamless look by aligning the edges of the buttons.

Answer №1

If your HTML code resembles the following:

<h3>hey there</h3><input type="button" value="click me"><br>
<h3>hi there</h3><input type="button" value="push here"><br>
<h3>hello again</h3><input type="button" value="123456"><br>
<h3>howdy</h3><input type="button" value="qwerty"><br>

Then your CSS styling should be:

h3{
    width:150px;
    display:inline-block;
}
input[type="button"]{
    width:200px;
    display:inline-block;
}

Does this meet your requirements?

Answer №2

CSS

<style type="text/css">
h3{
    background:orange;
    padding:10px 20px;
    display:inline-block;
    margin:0px

}
</style>

HTML

  <h3>Home</h3>
    <h3>About Us</h3>
    <h3>Contact</h3>

It is recommended to include a screenshot or code sample when requesting assistance.

Please note that achieving equal edges with the same length may not be possible if button content varies in width.
