"Enhance your web design workflow with Dreamweaver's ability to edit files

While coding in Dreamweaver CS5, I prefer using the code view exclusively. Recently, I came across the "dual screen" workspace feature which allowed me to eliminate distractions and focus solely on the main workspace with a secondary workspace in the corner.

However, I noticed that the secondary view only displayed the source code. I am interested in having the source code in the main workspace while having a different file, like a CSS or JS file, in the secondary workspace. Is there a way to switch between files in dual screen mode? Is the source code the default for the second screen and unchangeable? I've spent 30 minutes searching for answers but haven't found anything helpful.

Attached is a screenshot for reference:

My preference is to have the JS file displayed in the small screen, while being able to select any file in the main workspace.

Answer №1

Based on the screenshot you provided, it seems like you are utilizing Code Inspector, which showcases your HTML in a floating window for a better view of your working pages, as opposed to Split View which may cut them in half.

If you haven't already, you might want to explore Dreamweaver's Code Split View feature. You can find more information in this link
