Cutting imagery to create a new design element

https://i.sstatic.net/IAh0h.jpg

There is an image above with 6 gears (circles with pointy edges). My goal is to separate them into individual pictures and, on each picture's hover, have a relevant line with text appear. How can I achieve this?

The alignment of the gears should remain the same after slicing the image.

I am struggling with how to approach this problem. One potential solution could be to slice them up and then absolute position all of them, ensuring it works on screens at least the size of this image.

Answer №1

To recreate this design, open Adobe Illustrator and create a SVG file. Next, insert the SVG into your HTML document and add animations and styles to customize its elements. Follow standard HTML coding practices for applying styling effects.
