Cursor starts to move to the front of the input line after every single letter with a 1 millisecond delay while browsing certain websites, such as the comments section on Youtube

When I type a letter in the field, within 1 millisecond the cursor jumps to the beginning of the line in the typing field, causing text to be typed in reverse. I can only send messages on certain sites, such as YouTube comments and Yandex Translate, for example by typing it out in a notebook, copying, and pasting. I have been trying hard to understand this issue and so far I have learned that it is related to CSS, with a particular line appearing when it stops. Can someone please help me understand how to fix this problem, given my limited knowledge? Where can I reset settings on my Windows 10 system to prevent both of my browsers from behaving this way? (This issue started after I deleted cookies from a few websites and Windows Defender found no viruses.)

I have attempted to learn how to implement or encode a script that some people have suggested on various sites into my built-in system but so far I have been unsuccessful, which is bothering me quite a bit. First, what code or script do I need to use? Second, where and how should I paste or input it in order to solve the issue? I have taught myself how to read scripts in browsers using the shortcut Shift+Ctrl+I, and they refer to it as CSS in JS. By comparing pages where the issue has stopped occurring after deleting certain lines with div tags, I understood that the problem disappeared when the div was set back to default typing settings. I apologize for being lengthy in my explanation, as English is not my first language and I want to ensure I am understood clearly. This issue is consuming my thoughts and I cannot focus on anything else until I find a solution. Thank you for your understanding.

Answer №1

If you exclusively utilize browsers based on Chromium, it is advisable to test if the issue persists when using a browser built on Gecko. If the problem only arises in Chromium-based browsers, it likely indicates a bug within Chromium itself. Otherwise, the issue may be attributed to the operating system.

Popular Chromium-based browsers include:

  • Google Chrome
  • Opera
  • Edge
  • Brave

Notable Gecko-based browsers are:

  • Firefox
  • Goal

Answer №2

After experiencing an issue where my mind couldn't stay focused, I realized that the Linguist translator extension on both my Edge and Chrome browsers was causing trouble. It kept translating and changing letters in my native language text, with a pattern of bold letters at the beginning of sentences. This even affected typing on website input fields and YouTube auto-generated subtitles. Upon removing the extensions, the problem disappeared.
