CSSLint linter encountered an error during execution

Recently starting out in web development, I decided to use Atom and was working on a project involving HTML and CSS. Everything seemed to be going smoothly until I attempted to link an external CSS file with my HTML. At that point, I encountered the following error message. Can anyone offer assistance? The error reads:

linter-csslint:: Error while running CSSLint! '"node"' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Answer №1

Consider installing NodeJS as it may resolve the issue. Some users of Atom with CSSLint have reported similar issues: AtomLinter/linter-csslint

If CSSLint is not crucial to your project, you can try removing it from your package list before attempting any downloads (especially in a minimal project setup)
