CSS lint encountering a problem

csslint.net seems to be throwing errors for this specific css code and I'm not sure why. It's not uncommon for css to have issues, in my experience. I found this css on a site.

body {
    background: #eee !important;
}

.wrapper {
    margin-top: 80px;
  margin-bottom: 80px;
}

.form-signin {
  max-width: 380px;
  padding: 15px 35px 45px;
  margin: 0 auto;
  background-color: #fff;
  border: 1px solid rgba(0,0,0,0.1);

  .form-signin-heading,
    .checkbox {
      margin-bottom: 30px;
    }

    .form-control {
      position: relative;
      font-size: 16px;
      height: auto;
      padding: 10px;
        @include box-sizing(border-box);

        &:focus {
          z-index: 2;
        }
    }

    input[type="text"] {
      margin-bottom: -1px;
      border-bottom-left-radius: 0;
      border-bottom-right-radius: 0;
    }

    input[type="password"] {
      margin-bottom: 20px;
      border-top-left-radius: 0;
      border-top-right-radius: 0;
    }
}

I'm reaching out for assistance as I'm unsure what's causing the errors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer №1

The code appears to be quite malformed. If you run it through an editor with color syntax highlighting, you'll notice missing closing parentheses for certain rules or incorrect nesting. It's important to remember that you cannot nest regular rules in CSS, although media queries are an exception to this rule.

I suggest thoroughly reviewing your code to ensure that you are not attempting to nest rules inappropriately.
