Creating a sidebar that extends to the bottom of the webpage using

My friend is currently designing his website, and he has encountered an issue with the sidebar. He wishes for the sidebar to extend all the way down to the bottom of the page rather than just the visible portion within the browser window. You can view the website in question by clicking on this link.

If anyone could offer assistance, it would be greatly appreciated.

Answer №1

To ensure the sidebar extends to the bottom of the page, all its parent elements must also have a height of 100%. This means setting the height to 100% for html, body, #container, and #sidebar in your case.

Additionally, you might want to consider using <aside> instead of <article> for your sidebar.
