Content Division with Sticky Footer

I have successfully made my footer stay at the bottom of the page by following this method:

Now, I am facing an issue where my #content div has borders on the left and right sides but does not expand to match the height of the #wrapper.

Your help in resolving this would be highly appreciated.

Answer №1

If you're looking to add a border, my suggestion would be to place it on the "wrapper" div following the method outlined in this CSS layout: 100% height with header and footer example.

Update:

Transfer the border from the content section to the wrapper. For the wrapper:

#wrapper {
    border-left: 1px solid #000000;
    border-right: 1px solid #000000;
    margin: 174px auto 0;
    min-height: 100%;
    width: 870px;
}

Regarding the header:

#header {
    border-top: 0 solid #FFFFFF;
    height: 174px;
    position: relative;
    top: -174px;
    width: 100%;
}
