Can you show me how to recreate a 502 gateway timeout error?

Looking for suggestions on how to create a page that exceeds 600 seconds to load? Any tips on triggering a 502 gateway timeout error would be helpful as well.

Answer №1

When encountering a Bad Gateway status, remember that the code is 502 instead of a Gateway timeout code which is actually 504.

If you need an example of a Gateway timeout lasting 5000 milliseconds, check out this link:

Or if you're looking for one that lasts 600 seconds, try this link:

Answer №2

The proper way to execute this task is on the server-side. When it comes to backend language selection, there are several possibilities:

  1. Issuing a 502 HTTP response (this action can also be performed directly in Apache or NGINX)
  2. Creating a long response simulation using a "sleep" function (note that this choice will vary based on your backend)
  3. Implementing an infinite loop for testing purposes, although I wouldn't advise it!
