Are there any jQuery plugins available that animate elements as the page is scrolled?

Looking for a library that can create entry animations for elements as the page is scrolled? I previously used the animate it library, which was great - lightweight and easy to use. However, it doesn't seem compatible with the latest jQuery version (3.x). Can anyone recommend a good alternative library that is also free?

Answer №1

If you're looking to add some animation on scroll effects to your website, you should check out animate-on-scroll:

Alternatively, for more advanced features and greater control over your animations, consider using ScrollMagic:

Answer №2

To add some flair to your website, consider incorporating the effects from Animate.css along with the dynamic capabilities of Wow.js

Answer №3

To achieve this effect, you can implement the onscroll event handler.

window.onscroll - function() {
    var element = document.getElementById('animateMe');
    element.addClass('animation');
}

Ensure that the animation is defined within the .animation class.

Here is the CSS code:

.animation {
    animation: yourAnimation 2s ease-out;
}

@keyframes animation {
    0% {
        background: blue;
    }
    100% {
        backgroudn: red;
    }
}

If you want the animation to pause when not scrolling, refer to this guide on how to detect scrolling pauses in JavaScript.
