An error is thrown when using less.js

Every time I attempt to add less.js, I encounter an XmlHttpRequest Exception 101.

Including the .less file is done using this method:

<link rel="stylesheet/less" type="text/css" href="anything.less" />

This issue only arises when I upload the theme to Tumblr while working on a Tumblr theme. Both files are correctly included, as evidenced by being able to access the real files through the links in the source code.

If anyone has insight into resolving this problem, please share your suggestions.

I have been utilizing this for production purposes only. Compiling the less file locally, integrating it into the template, and re-uploading it is extraordinarily time-consuming.

This query is distinct from:

LESS CSS minimal setup failure
I utilize Safari and employ a global URL ().

Answer №1

You stated:

The html file is located on www.tumblr.com, while the .less file is situated on themelandia.com

This scenario necessitates that the less.js file initiates a cross-domain ajax request to fetch your .less file. However, modern browsers prohibit such requests, leading to failure.

To resolve this issue, consider placing the .less file within tumblr.com's domain.
