Adjust the Highcharts semi-pie design by eliminating the gap between the pie and the legend

I'm having trouble adjusting the spacing between the bottom of a semi circle donut chart in Highcharts and the legend below it. Despite my efforts, I have not been successful in reducing this gap.

Here is the basic chart I am currently working on:

https://jsfiddle.net/vmw0pekL/2/

Here is the current result:

Initially, I made adjustments to the chart properties such as marginTop and marginBottom to decrease the space between the chart and the legend. However, this resulted in a large gap at the top of the chart as seen here:

https://jsfiddle.net/vmw0pekL/3/

The updated result looks like this:

If anyone has any suggestions on how to address this issue, I would greatly appreciate it. I aim to eliminate the space at the top of the graph and minimize the gap between the graph and the legend as well.

Answer №1

The reason for the large empty space beneath the semi-circle donut chart is due to it being reserved for the lower section of the complete pie chart. Adjusting the startAngle to 0 and endAngle to 360 will make this clearer. To customize this, modify the values in the center array and adjust the size of the pie accordingly.

For more information refer to the API Reference:

Answer №2

Here is a simple method to achieve the desired outcome:

style: {
    paddingTop: 20,
    paddingBottom: -120,
    paddingLeft: -80,
    paddingRight: -80
},

#wrapper {
  border: 2px solid blue;
  height: 280px;
  font-size: 10px;
  width: 400px;
}
